Kaitlyn started classes with Ms. Josette since she was 5 years old. We saw a huge improvement in Kaitlyn's English oral skills in just a few lessons. Thank you Ms. Josette for building Kaitlyn’s confidence when speaking in English, while always providing learning in a happy and fun environment. Kaitlyn always looks forward to Josette’s lesson. We can see how Kaitlyn sounds more relaxed and confident when speaking in English and she is very comfortable starting conversations with Western people now. We will continue to let Kaitlyn have classes with Ms. Josette to further improve her writing and grammar skills .

Ms. Josette has made learning English fun through exciting activities!

Josette’s class is engaging, fun and diverse - through different kinds of games, story books and exercises, Addie progressively developed his English speaking, reading and writing skills. I like Josette’s classes, as they cover a wide range of skills from Phonics, articulation, reading fluency, story telling, and writing. All activities are very interactive, as well as educational!

Addie started attending Josette’s class since 1.5 years ago and I am amazed to see how he has become more confident to speak English. He is even able to translate my Chinese sentences to simple English, and most importantly, learning English becomes a fun part of his daily life!

Josette's classes have encouraged Nam Nam to challenge herself and she is not afraid to make mistakes and try again and again, even when material gets more difficult. I noticed that Nam Nam is more confident when speaking, reading, and writing in English. Josette always has a way to make learning English fun and practical. The interactive activities and games played during class help Nam Nam apply what she learned in her everyday life and in school. Josette's tailor made lesson plans allow for flexibility and a personal touch. The one-on-one sessions give Nam Nam full attention and Josette is able to share and track Nam Nam's progress on a frequent basis.

Thank you so much to Ms. Josette for your selfless teaching during this period. I can see Kanson has a big improvement and it's over my expectations. Kanson requested to read "I Spy" book on the bus and I am so happy to see him excited to read and not afraid to read in English. Ms. Josette shares a recap of what happens after every class to keep me in the loop and keep track of Kanson's progress. I have some topics to chat with Kanson about when I ask him how his day was. Ms. Josette always finds a way to make learning English fun and enjoyable. We appreciate how Ms. Josette taught Kanson very well.

When Lok Lok first met Ms. Josette, he did not know any phonics and was not interested in English at all. After a few lessons, Lok Lok already learned all the letter sounds and already began blending and putting different sounds together. Now, Lok Lok is able to sound out words independently and read with a lot of confidence. Ms. Josette's way of teaching is not just about teaching the child how to speak, read, and write, she also helped shape and change Lok Lok's self-talk, confidence level, mindset and beliefs. Before he didn't think he could read, write, and have fun learning English, but now he is not scared to learn hard things. He enjoys learning English and most importantly he believes in himself and his abilities. Even when it gets difficult, Lok Lok is willing to try again and again. He has the grit and perseverance to keep going until he gets it. We continued classes with Ms. Josette because we did not want to waste time and money at a chain class that is not suitable for my child. I can tell how beneficial the one-on-one tailor made lesson plans have helped Lok Lok progress to where he is today.

Ms. Josette's classes have helped foster independence and build confidence for Hilary. When Hilary first started classes with Ms. Josette, she didn't like and refused to read in class. Hilary couldn’t focus well during Zoom classes, particularly during Covid, so one-on-one in person classes helped Hilary stay on track. Ms. Josette's activities kept HIlary engaged and she has improved drastically in reading, writing, and speaking in English. Hilary looks forward to Ms. Josette's classes every week, as her lessons are packed with fun educational games and activities focusing on a wide variety of topics including reading comprehension, phonics, story telling, communication skills. Hilary is very happy when she is able to read by herself and she can't wait to practice more and read it to Ms. Josette. My daughter took initiative to ask how to create more sentences. Ms. Josette taught her all the parts of speech, sentence structures, and worked on more activities to develop this area. Through Ms. Josette's weekly recaps, I am able to see what Hilary is doing well on, what she needs to improve on, and which activities and games make her happy and interested to learn more.
